Γεννήθηκε o Wilhelm Τ. Preyer. Η συνεισφορά του Preyer ήταν στους τομείς της έγχρωμης όρασης και της ανάπτυξης του παιδιού. O Preyer έγραψε το πρώτο βιβλίο που απευθύνεται ειδικά στην ψυχολογία του παιδιού, The Mind of the Child (1881).
